What Happens in Weekly Worship
Sunday 10 am
The Sunday morning worship service is a traditional service, with chancel choir, robes and manuscript preaching. There are contemporary elements, with occasional songs that include a variety of instruments. Check our YouTube page to get a better sense of our Sunday morning worship. The worship service is followed by a time of fellowship with a coffee hour in the fellowship hall. Children begin the service in worship and are dismissed to their classrooms following the children's moment.
Sunday Worship Child Care 9:45 am
The nursery is available starting at 9:45 am. Child care is provided in the nursery in the education building on the 2nd floor. Please see an usher in the sanctuary if you have any questions on Sunday morning.
Sunday School 10 am
Sunday School is available for ages 3 years old through high school. Regular sessions run from September through June, and our one-room Summer session runs July through August.
Saturday Evening 5:45 pm
On Saturday evening we hold another service, one with a different kind of worship. We sing new songs, openly share prayer requests, watch a video, hear a short sermon, and have a time for people to respond to what was shared. Child care is usually provided during this service, but we do encourage children (8 and up) to join us as part of this 45 minute service.
Changing the World through Belief and Action
United Methodists believe in a holy heart and holy deeds. We do things that help us love God and we try our best to love our neighbor, too. This is what we believe helps to build God's kingdom here on earth. Here's specific steps we take to change the world:
1. We worship together on a Saturday evening or Sunday morning. This is how we connect to God and get energized for ministry.
2. Join a small group! We have several ranging from Bible Study to singing groups. We also have bowling, cardplaying and babywearers! We try to have something for everyone, so join a small group and get to know people as we encourage one another to do God's will. You can find a list of ministries and small groups here
3. Change the world by helping others. There are several opportunities available from our food pantry, to helping CUMAC in Paterson or volunteering with Family Promise, who helps homeless families in need. Ministry to others changes other people's lives, but it also changes us. Call the church office for more information.
