EXTENDED BIBLE STUDY - JESUS IN THE GOSPELS
For those individuals interested in the long-term disciplined study groups in the tradition of "Christian Believer" and "Disciple", "Jesus in the Gospels" is a program available for our exploration, to deepen our understanding and commitment to discipleship.
This course of study will begin January 12, 2010, meeting each Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm for approximately 2 hours of video lesson, homework review, discussion, and reflection. This 30 week course of study will include breaks at the 12th and 22nd weeks to support individual reflection and to keep the energy levels high.
Lisa Schoelles will facilitate and participate in the course, and will have support from several co-facilitators.
Jesus in the Gospels
Who is Jesus? This course focuses on the four Gospels and the way each writer presents the events and teachings and the picture of Jesus that emerges. This approach will differ from the usual approach of reading about the life and teachings of Jesus. The study looks at the Old Testament as well, to develop an appreciation of Jesus rooted in Judaism. Members will take a journey in faith development as they begin with an understanding of who Jesus is as they enter into study and leave with a new understanding of who Jesus is as they depart from study.
If you would like to register for the course, or would like more information about the course, please email Lisa Schoelles .

Fee for the course study manual and partner guide to the gospels is $44. A study bible, such as the “The New Interpreter’s Study Bible” is recommended.
Participation in either "Christian Believer" or "Disciple" are not a pre-requisite. |
